Meridian Music: Composers in Performance presents Sci-Fi Song Cycle by Alee Karim. Marielle Jakobsons and Agnes Szelag will join Karim for this collection of new pieces for the winter months loosely inspired by the psychic experience of science fiction. Pocket symphonies for acoustic guitar, cello, violin, male and female voice.

Alee Karim is a composer and guitarist living in San Francisco. His work is aural cinema, evoking psychotropic landscapes from acoustic and electronic textures. His music has been described as The Velvet Underground interpreting Ligeti with a libretto by Philip K. Dick. As a composer, he has collaborated with percussionist Shayna Dunkelman, engineer/composer The Norman Conquest, and electronic folk duo Myrmyr. He performs in the bands The Atomic Bomb Audition and Mute Socialite.
