Join Dickran Tashjian, Professor Emeritus of Art History, U.C. Irvine, in an encounter with selected books accumulated during fifty years of teaching and research. With a loose focus on Gertrude Stein's books and those of her contemporaries in the first part of the last century, this casual workshop will explore the process and pleasures of book collecting, with an exclusive opportunity to examine some of Dickran Tashjian's unusual finds. In Extremis: Prints Monumental, Intimate, and Encompassing
From the tiny to the monumental, from installations to political posters, printmaking has many ongoing traditions. Some of these traditions are complimentary, some at odds with each other. The exhibition, In Extremis: Prints Monumental, Intimate, and Encompassing, explores contrasting approaches to contemporary printmaking in Northern California through the work of more than thirty artists and artist groups.
