Closing Reception/Election Night Party

Date: Nov 04,2008

Time: 06:00 PM - 11:55 PM

November 4 will be the final day of our show. Not by coincidence, this is also election night--so of course, Meridian Gallery will be throwing a party! You are invited to join the artists, the gallery staff, and all the many volunteers who worked so hard on this show. Where else would you want to watch the election returns than in the company of artwork that has defiantly challenged the war machine over the past eight years? We'll be projecting the election results on our big screen in the performance gallery and live entertainment will be provided by New Zealander sound artist Sci Hi (aka Paul Winstanley).

This evening will also be a celebration of the success of the two month-long show on it's closing night. We believe this show has made the impact we hoped for: we've seen nearly 3000 visitors, some thirty pieces of print and online publicity, six school group tours, and a whole contingent of antiwar films, special concerts, and speakers. We hope to have made some difference during these politically crucial times, and we couldn't have done it without the generous participation of so many artists, volunteers, and audience members. A deep and warm thanks to all involved. We'd love for you to join us as we gather to see the exhibition one last time.
