A colorful evening of film and discussion Herbert Gold will screen Hotel Haiti, a documentary in which he appears, on Haitian Art and Voodoo by German filmmaker, Uli Aumüller. Herbet Gold has made 35 trips to Haiti and is the author of Haiti, the Best Nightmare on Earth.

Herbert Gold has been an influential member of the San Francisco literary world since he settled in the city during the 1960s. Gold is best known for his novel Fathers, an account of a father and son adjusting to the hardships of immigrant life in America. A San Francisco resident, his most recent publication is a memoir entitled Still Alive!: A Temporary Condition.
